I honor you

This is such a special word…“honor.” I want to share what it means to me.

It means to fully see. To love and respect deeply.

As a friend and it is to believe and advocate for that friend’s potential and who they are at the soul level.

Because it can be hard to honor one’s own soul. What a gift it is to have someone see and and create the conditions for a soul to come alive.

For your friend who plays music, when you know they are truly sharing their highest expression and voice through the lyrics and melody.

When you see that wood table or piece of art and the satisfaction on your friends face where you know they put everything into it.

Or that major project or new role where they made something happen when they were afraid at first.

Sometimes you don’t have to say a word to them. But you can look them in the eye and say with words, actions or any other gesture.

I see you.

And as your eyes well up with joy and tears, you communicate…I honor you.

I completely see that you put your heart and soul into this.

So today as you read this I want you to hear:

I honor who you are.

I honor your gifts.

I honor the challenges and what you have been struggling with.

I honor what it took to create what you just made.

And as YOU honor the full scope of your humanity.

You will honor me.

Thank you for this great gift.
