i don’t know
what i would
do without you
today i walked
the streets of a city
feeling confused and drifting
aimlessly with no direction
but music
you were my resurrection
you grounded me
with a little healing
and a feeling
back to me
your melodies create
moments like this
that always get me through
a heartbreak
a loss or a rough day
music you are there
to help me find my way
you make the special moments special
putting that mark on a memory
when i hear you
i smile and remember
that first road trip as a kid
a spontaneous adventure
that big celebration
or gathering for a festive occasion
you sure bring us together
in so many ways
as i writer
i would not
be here today without you
because what i hear in you is
more than melodies
